Dave Grohl has offered his famous throne to bluegrass musician Billy Strings after Strings broke his leg while trying a skateboard trick during a show in Charlottesville, Virginia. The throne was built for Grohl so he could continue performing after he broke his leg in 2015.
In a Facebook post, Strings shared that Grohl reached out to him, saying, “He even texted me and offered me the throne!” Despite the generous offer, Strings has decided to take a break from touring to let his leg heal. He has postponed his remaining April shows until August.
Grohl has previously lent his throne to other musicians, including Axl Rose and Matthew Ramsey from Old Dominion. Meanwhile, Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear recently injured his foot in a strange gardening accident. He chose to sit out some shows and was temporarily replaced by guitarist Jason Falkner.
