Former Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert has been arrested on charges of attempted murder. He allegedly ran over the father of frontman Brendan Yates with his car. The Maryland Judiciary database shows that 33-year-old Brady O’Brien Ebert from Silver Spring is facing charges of attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault.
Ebert was one of the original members of Turnstile, a band that started in Baltimore in 2010. He played on their first three albums, including the Grammy-nominated 2021 release, GLOW ON, which featured hits like “HOLIDAY” and “BLACKOUT.” Ebert left the band in 2022.
In a statement, Turnstile explained that they cut ties with Ebert due to a pattern of harmful behavior that affected him, the band, and the community. They said they tried to help him but had to set boundaries when communication broke down and he began making threats.
Recently, Ebert’s behavior escalated. According to Turnstile, he attacked Brendan’s father by running him over with his vehicle, causing serious injuries. Thankfully, Mr. Yates survived and has undergone surgery, with hopes for a full recovery.
Turnstile expressed their concern and asked for privacy during this difficult time. Ebert’s attorney did not provide any comments when reached for a statement.
