The single marks the band’s first RIAA recognition since 2022 as they prepare a new studio album with BMG.
Breaking Benjamin has earned a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for “Awaken,” signifying 500,000 certified units sold or streamed in the United States. Released in October 2024, “Awaken” was the band’s first new track after signing a worldwide record deal with BMG—their first label switch in 20 years. The song held the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart for four consecutive weeks while also topping Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales, Alternative Digital Song Sales, and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales charts.
The achievement marks the group’s first RIAA recognition since 2022. It was followed by the single “Something Wicked,” which reached No. 1 on both Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and the Mediabase Active Rock chart, giving the band their ninth career No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Both songs serve as the first preview of Breaking Benjamin’s upcoming studio album with BMG, and the band is currently on tour this month.
