Benjamin Burnley paused the show during a drum repair to plug his mod following a dispute with another creator.
During Breaking Benjamin’s Sept. 6 concert at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey, frontman Benjamin Burnley paused the performance for over five minutes to promote his Fallout 4 mod while a drum tech repaired a broken snare drum. Operating under the username killemloud, Burnley created the “True First Person” mod—released Sept. 1 on Nexus Mods—which allows players to view their character’s full body in first-person mode. Burnley informed the crowd that he was motivated to promote the mod after facing online criticism and bullying from another modder, vowing to plug the project every night until it reaches one million downloads.
As production screens displayed the mod name and Burnley’s username behind him, some audience members called for the band to return to playing music. The mod, which maintains first-person perspective during workshop interactions and power armor sequences, had previously received complaints regarding weapon clipping and compatibility issues. Breaking Benjamin is currently on a North American tour alongside Chevelle, Starset, and Kami Kehoe.
