Bree Runway offered a performance of her fiery single “HOT HOT” for the 2022 BRITs Rising Star Session. Last month, the London musician was shortlisted for next year’s BRITs Rising Star award alongside Holly Humberstone and Lola Young. The winner will be announced on Friday, December 10.
Bree Runway delivers the blazing performance of “HOT HOT” in a stunning red dress and fur-lined shades. She dances around a giant BRIT statue with a backing back matching the track’s high energy.
“I feel so honored to be recognized by the BRITs in this way, it’s all so exciting especially as previous nominees have gone on to do such amazing things, I hope I’m struck by that same luck,” Runway said of her nomination. “Attending the BRITs alone has been something I’ve wanted to do for years, but attending as a Rising Star nominee is a DREAM.”
“HOT HOT” arrived earlier this year as an unapologetic statement of self-confidence pulling from Busta Rhymes’ smash single “Touch It.”
“I feel like this is the song everyone needs to hear as it gets hotter and the world eases up,” Bree shared in a statement at the time. “This pandemic hasn’t been easy on the brain, and with being indoors wearing joggers 24/7, it’s been hard to feel like a hottie, so I’m hoping this track will help!”
She added: “Typically for me, it’s about reaffirming your power and believing in yourself cause ‘you can never do it like a Brenda.’ I want my fans to never feel afraid to hype themselves up, they’re the shit and they don’t need to wait for anybody to tell’em they are!”
“HOT HOT” was Bree Runway’s only official single to be released this year, but she still made a note of showing off her versatility as an artist in other ways. In May, she appeared on Glass Animals’ “Space Ghost Coast To Coast” and remixed Lady Gaga’s “Babylon” with Jimmy Edgar for the Dawn of Chromatica remix album.
