Lee signed her first record deal with Decca Records in 1956, just shortly before her twelfth birthday—she would go on to become the first woman inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the recipient of a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award. Earlier this year, international recordings of Lee performing some of her most notable songs in German, French, and Italian became available digitally for the first time.

In 2023, nearly 65 years after its release, “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” made a surprise return to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, breaking countless records and claiming the third No. 1 holiday hit ever. The resurgence also made Lee the oldest woman to ever top the chart at 79 years old. Across her decades-long career, Lee has sold more than 100 million albums globally.

Of her new collection, Lee shared in a statement: “These songs are really the gems that make up the soundtrack to my early career and I just love that fans, old and new, will now have the opportunity to listen to this music again.”
