Turnstile frontman Brendan Yates is featured on a new song by American Football called “No Feeling.” This track will be part of American Football’s upcoming self-titled album, also known as LP4.
Mike Kinsella from American Football shared that Yates came into the studio to record a call-and-response part for the chorus. Kinsella had envisioned a group of voices for this section but was thrilled when Yates suggested trying a higher harmony. “As soon as he started singing it, all of our jaws dropped,” Kinsella said. “His voice is so unique, and it was clear that this part now belonged to him.”
The music video for “No Feeling” is now available on YouTube. LP4 is set to release on May 1.
In other news, Turnstile has faced a tough week. Their former guitarist, Brady Ebert, was arrested for attempted second-degree murder after allegedly hitting Yates’ father with his car. Turnstile released a statement saying, “We have no language left for Brady. Please respect our privacy in this time.”
Despite the challenges, Turnstile is preparing to perform at Coachella this Friday.
