Former Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds is posthumously featured on a new CKY song called “Beware of the Heartless.” CKY guitarist Chad I Ginsburg says they remembered it was one year since Hinds died and found the solo he recorded for the track. “Brent took the time to play on it and we loved him,” Ginsburg said. He added that they were too upset at the time to release it, but decided to share it now so fans can hear Brent’s playing. Hinds died on Aug. 20, 2025, in a motorcycle accident. He was 51. Mastodon, who announced they were parting ways with Hinds in March 2025, will release a new album called Marrow Deep on Aug. 28.
