Poison frontman Bret Michaels has postponed shows on his Live & Amplified World Tour after surgery to remove a kidney stone.
Michaels posted that on July 19 he was diagnosed with a complicated, obstructing kidney stone and needed immediate surgery. Doctors say, because of his post-op condition and other health issues (diabetes and a lower back compression fracture), he must avoid all live performances and stick to light activity for 3 to 4 weeks. He’ll be reevaluated by doctors before resuming shows.
Michaels thanked medical staff, family, friends, fans, his band and crew for their support. He said he hopes to be back on the road in late August and “deliver 1000% energy” when he returns.
