Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Trailer Criticized by Fans Due to Metallica Remix Controversy

The new Black Ops 7 trailer had a tough week on YouTube, getting 110,000 dislikes compared to just 30,000 likes. A big reason for the backlash was a controversial remix of Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.” The Crystal Creative studio took the classic 1986 metal song and added synthetic beats and machine sounds to fit the game’s futuristic 2035 setting. This new version didn’t sit well with many fans. One of the top comments on the video read, “This actually made me pre-order Battlefield 6,” showing just how divided viewers are.

Black Ops 7 is set to release on November 14. The game continues the story from Black Ops II, skipping over last year’s sixth installment. The choice of “Master of Puppets” isn’t random. The song gained renewed popularity in 2022 thanks to its memorable scene in Netflix’s Stranger Things, introducing it to a whole new audience.

Players can grab the game on multiple platforms, including PS4, PS5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. There will also be bonus content for those who buy early.

In other Metallica news, the band is planning a special 250-person show at Stephen Talkhouse in Long Island next week. Fans around the world can catch the performance live on the band’s SiriusXM channel when it streams on September 1. Keep an eye out for more updates on Metallica and Black Ops 7!
