Candlebox is gearing up to release a new studio album in 2027, with eight songs already completed. Frontman Kevin Martin shared that the band plans to finish two or three more tracks this year for single releases before the full album drops next year. “Yeah, for some reason we think we should make another record,” Martin said.
This upcoming album follows 2023’s *The Long Goodbye*, which was initially announced as the band’s final release. Martin had planned to retire that year to spend time with his family and launch a bourbon product. However, after receiving numerous tour offers, he decided to continue making music.
Original guitarist Peter Klett rejoined the band in 2025 after being away for years. His return has changed how the group performs live and creates new songs. “It’s been really just a pleasure,” Martin said. “When he came back last year, it felt like old times.”
Martin noted that Klett’s unique playing style influences his vocal performance. “It’s funny — when he plays, I sing the song exactly how it’s supposed to be sung,” he explained. “With other guitarists, I can go wherever I want, but with Pete, it’s different.”
The band is currently on the *We Can’t Quit You, Babe* tour. Martin mentioned that other bands like Rainbow, The Who, and Kiss have also come back after retirement announcements.
He also talked about the rising costs of touring, which have become a challenge. Martin revealed that his daily expenses reach $22,000, covering tour bus rental, fuel, hotels, insurance, and staff. All Candlebox shows booked for this year are confirmed and ready to rock!
