Cannons is set to release their new album, *Everything Glows*, this Friday. Frontwoman Michelle Joy opened up about her struggles while creating the album. After finishing the last Cannons tour, she faced serious health issues, including severe anemia. “I was burnt out and exhausted,” Joy shared. “When I got home, I had nothing left inside me.”
The album’s first track, “All I Need,” reflects her feelings during that tough time with lyrics like, “Falling, down again/ I’m burning for you.” Joy wrote about her experiences, even when she didn’t feel great. “I kept showing up because of my love for Cannons and making music,” she said.
Despite the challenges, *Everything Glows* has an upbeat sound that matches its title. Joy sees the album as a bright light, even if she didn’t fully believe it at the time. “I’ve realized that songs are like mantras,” she explained. “If I sing a song enough times, it eventually makes sense in my life.”
Joy aims to write in a way that helps her find light in tough situations. “I want to sing myself out of it,” she added.
To celebrate the album’s release, Cannons will kick off a U.S. tour with Bob Moses on March 31 in Phoenix. Fans can look forward to an exciting show filled with new music and positive vibes!
