Celine Dion Proves to Be Unsinkable in The City of Brotherly Love

Fresh off of her second residency in Las Vegas, the legendary Celine Dion brought her “Courage World Tour”  to a sold out Wells Fargo Center crowd in the “City of Brotherly Love” on February 26, 2020.  The tour kicked off on September 18, 2019 in Quebec City and will make stops in over 50 cities including Montreal, Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Miami, Dallas, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, and more.

Prior to Celine taking the stage, the fans were having a blast with the DJ playing and a chance to get their faces on the “Courage” screen high above the stage.  One couple even renacted Leo and Kate’s famous scene on the bow of the Titanic which got a huge laugh and applause from the Philly Crowd.

Once the DJ stopped playing and the lights dimmed, a video played across the stage and everytime the pop star’s face appeared, the anticipation of the Phily crowd grew.

Finally, Celine rose from under the stage, waved and thanked the crowd, then began to sing “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” from Celine’s first album Falling into You which was released almost 25 years ago.  For the next two hours, one of pop musics most influentual entertainers mesmorized the Philly faithful with hits from her early years like “The Power of Love” “I’m Your Angel” and” Because You Loved Me”  as well and songs like “Courage” and “Imperfections” from her latest album Courage which was released in late 2019.

Near the end of her set, Celine came out in a shiny silver jumpsuit and performed a medley of covers, including David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance,” Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust” and Patti LaBelle’s “Lady Marmalade.” Dion ended the night with a two-song encore which included the song everyone was waiting for “My Heart Will Go On,” from the film “Titanic,” which sounded every bit as good as the recording as it did in 1997.

The Grammy and Oscar award-winning superstar finished the night with a cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine” only accompanied by piano.   Celine Dion proved that her music and live performancse will go on for as long as people debate the fact that Kate had plenty of room for Leo on that door at the end of Titanic.   We all know that isn’t going to stop anytime soon.
