Chaka Khan and Stephanie Mills will be the next to battle via Verzuz for a special holiday edition. The match featuring the two R&B legends will take place on November 18, and will be live from The Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. EST.

The Verzuz official Twitter account dropped the news Saturday night calling the event a “holiday special for the queens.” Verzuz also recently announced a battle between Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Three 6 Mafia, who will be head-to-head in early December and will also stream live from Los Angeles.

In other news, Chaka Khan released a recording of “When The Time Comes” back in September, as part of the official soundtrack from the upcoming Amazon Prime film Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. The song wraps up the film with an uplifting aura of positivity.

“We decided that in order to complete the soundtrack for the movie, we needed an icon,” said soundtrack writer Dan Gillespie Sells. “We were already delighted with how multi-generational and varied the soundtrack was, including artists that chimed with the LGBTQ+ community and with Jamie’s story.”

Khan, alongside Lionel RichieQuincy Jones, Smokey Robinson, and the Fisk Jubilee Singers also received the Rhapsody & Rhythm Award from the National Museum of African American Music.

The presentations took place back in June at the seventh annual Celebration of Legends Benefit Concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The event was sponsored by Amazon and was broadcast as a livestream, with limited in-person attendance.

Khan, whose award was presented by Bobby Brown, was at the event to declare: “This award goes to not just myself, but so many women who went before me. Some were my contemporaries, others were not, from Billie Holiday to Whitney Houston. This award goes to them, my sisters on this planet and in this field. I’ve had a beautiful career so far and I’m not finished yet.”
