Green Day has released a new trailer for their upcoming movie, NIMRODS. The teaser features the classic song “Basket Case” and introduces the story of three friends, played by Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, and Ryan Foust. They steal a car and hit the road after being fooled into thinking they will open for Green Day on New Year’s Eve. The trailer also includes glimpses of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, showcasing their early touring days that inspired the film. You can watch the NIMRODS trailer on YouTube. The movie is set to hit theaters on August 14 and features a cast that includes Mckenna Grace, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Fred Armisen, and Bobby Lee. Green Day first announced the project in 2025 under the title New Years Rev, and it premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival before changing its name in April.
