The trailer for the new documentary, *The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel*, has just been released. Netflix first announced the film in January, focusing on the early years of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, especially the artistic vision of original guitarist Hillel Slovak, who passed away in 1988.
The band clarified that this film is not an official Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary and that they were not involved in its creative process. They mentioned that Anthony Kiedis and Flea participated in interviews out of love and respect for Hillel and his legacy. “We have not yet made a Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary,” the band stated. “The main focus of this Netflix special is Hillel Slovak, and we hope it brings more attention to him and his work.”
The documentary’s title has been updated to include the subtitle *Our Brother, Hillel*. In the trailer, Kiedis emphasizes, “Everything about the Red Hot Chili Peppers was all Hillel’s vision.”
*The Rise of the Red Hot Chili Peppers: Our Brother, Hillel* is set to premiere on March 20 on Netflix. Fans of the band and music lovers alike won’t want to miss this tribute to a key figure in their history.
