College band director gets tattoo after Metallica competition
Barry Flowe, the band director at Bridgewater College in Virginia, made a bold promise before the latest Metallica marching band competition. He said he would get a Metallica tattoo if his band placed in the top three.
Bridgewater College ended up taking second place in the Division 2/Division 3 category, which meant Flowe had to keep his word. Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo even reminded him of his promise in a video announcing the winners.
True to his word, Flowe got a tattoo featuring the iconic Metallica logo along with the Bridgewater eagle mascot. Metallica shared the moment on their Instagram, praising Flowe with the caption, “Nice ink, Barry!”
