Corey Taylor has a 19-year-old son, Griffin, who fronts a metal band named Vended, which also features Simon Crahan, the son of Slipknot’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan. The band dropped their debut EP, What Is It/Kill It, last month, and already, Griffin is getting a taste of what it’s like to pursue a career in music when you have a famous rock star dad.
Griffin and Vended’s Cole Espeland, Jeremiah Pugh took part in an interview on KNOTFEST’s YouTube channel, and regarding the feedback the band has been receiving, Griffin said, “For me, I do see people’s responses to it, and I get a lot of great responses, because I love the crowd. I love the fans because they’ve been there for my dad and they will be there for me and I will not force them to be.”
He continued, “But we do get backlash because of the comparison and the similarities [to Slipknot.] But we are different. And there have been times where I’ve read some hate comments on YouTube and I literally went into the bathtub, filled the bathtub up and just immediately started crying. I was just so f—ing in a bad place before we got here. And now I’m in a good place because I’m with my friends.”
Vended’s What Is It/Kill It is available for streaming/download here.
