Dave Grohl Continues ‘Hanukkah Sessions’ With Ramones Cover

Dave Grohl and producer/frequent collaborator Greg Kurstin have released their second cover as part of the 2021 installment of “The Hanukkah Sessions.”

Following the duo’s very unique cover of Lisa Loeb’s ‘Stay,’ Grohl and Kurstin have decided to stick closer to the source material with their take on the Ramones’ “Blitzkreig Bop.” (For good measure, they even altered the lyrics to say, “Hey Oy! Let’s Goy!”

Per the cover’s YouTube description, “Once upon a time, two nice Jewish boys from Queens named Jeffery Hyman and Thomas Erdelyi changed the world forever with their music….. as Joey and Tommy Ramone!”

Last year, Grohl and Kurstin released a new cover every night of Hanukkah that was performed by a Jewish artist. Their covers honored eight different acts including the Beastie Boys, Bob Dylan and more.
