Two members of the Grohl family are gearing up to release new albums. Dave Grohl is set to drop a new Foo Fighters record titled *Your Favorite Toy* on April 24. At the same time, his daughter Violet Grohl is working on her debut album after signing with Republic Records.
While Violet is following in her father’s musical footsteps, Dave revealed that her work has actually inspired him for his upcoming album. “It really inspired me to make this record,” he shared with Radio X in the U.K. “The way they made the record and the energy of it made me think, ‘Oh man, I’ve just been inspired by my daughter’s debut album.’ It’s cool.”
Dave also mentioned that he was “totally uninvolved” in Violet’s album. He only found out about her record deal when she told him. “She met the producer, and they would go to the studio every day to make songs. She would send me songs when she was finished,” he explained. “But I had absolutely nothing to do with this record at all. And I had no idea.”
Despite being her dad, Dave is excited about Violet’s music, calling it “an amazing record.” Fans of both artists have a lot to look forward to this year!
