Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine is set to release a new memoir titled *In My Darkest Hour* on September 8. In this book, Mustaine shares his personal journey through his battle with throat cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2019.
Mustaine describes his experience as one of the toughest times in his life. He says, “This story is considerably more than just go to the doctor, get diagnosed, get treatment and hopefully I live happily ever after.” He emphasizes that it was a journey of survival, keeping his family together, and continuing to make music.
This isn’t Mustaine’s first book. He previously wrote *Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir* and *Rust in Peace: The Inside Story of the Megadeth Masterpiece*.
In addition to his writing, Megadeth recently released their self-titled final album in January. The band is gearing up for a multiyear farewell tour to support the album. Fans can look forward to both the memoir and the upcoming tour as Mustaine continues to share his story and music.
