Death Cab for Cutie will begin a U.S. tour Friday in Minneapolis to support their new album, I Built You a Tower. The band plans to play songs from the new record while also reaching back through their full catalog. Frontman Ben Gibbard says new material can sometimes feel like “a speed bump” live and requires focus. But so far the new songs have worked well alongside older ones. “For the most part, the new songs we were playing felt very natural coming in and out of the old songs,” he says.
