In the middle of the night, rock star Joe Elliott took a seat at a hotel piano. The Def Leppard lead singer spent 90 minutes playing, marking his first time at the keys in nearly 50 years of touring. He shared a funny video on Instagram, joking, “Allow us to introduce you to Sir Elton Joe. When you get a piano in your hotel room for the first time in 46 years of touring, you have to put on a show. Even if it is out of tune…”
The video shows Elliott at the piano in his hotel room at 12:26 a.m. He tried to play various tunes, but it was a struggle. His late-night session was filled with missed notes and quiet frustrations, lasting until 2:30 a.m. This impromptu piano moment happened during a break between shows.
Next, Def Leppard will perform in Placer County, California, on Saturday, August 9. However, fans shouldn’t expect a piano solo from Elliott. He usually sticks to singing his classic hits from the front of the stage. He’ll showcase his vocal skills at many upcoming tour dates, including several shows at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
Looking ahead, the band has a performance scheduled for August 2026 in Wacken, Germany. Fans can purchase regular or VIP tickets for that show. Keep an eye out for more updates on Def Leppard’s tour and Joe Elliott’s musical adventures!
