Demi Lovato, Brandi Carlile And More To Perform Tribute Honoring Elton John At ‘iHeartRadio Music Awards’

iHeartMedia and FOX announced today that Demi Lovato, Brandi Carlile, and H.E.R. will perform during a special tribute honoring Elton John with the iHeartRadio Icon Award at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

The award will be presented by Chris Martin and Lil Nas X and will honor Elton John’s global impact on pop culture, longevity, and continued relevance as a touring and radio force with a loyal fan base worldwide.

Usher will host and perform during the event, which will also feature previously announced performances from The Weeknd with special guest Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak (Silk Sonic), Dan + Shay, and Doja Cat.

In addition, the event will feature special appearances from LL Cool J, Nelly, Machine Gun Kelly, French Montana, Lil Jon, Robin Thicke, Joel McHale, Oliver Stark, Ryan Guzman, Gabby Barrett, Ava Max, Raphael Saadiq, AJR and more, plus previously announced appearances from Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Roddy Ricch, twenty one pilots and Megan Thee Stallion.

The event will air LIVE from The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Thursday, May 27 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live / PT tape-delayed) on FOX. The eighth annual event also will air live on iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide and on the iHeartRadio app.

For the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards, iHeartMedia and FOX will be giving a sneak peek at the winners of four awards leading up to the Thursday, May 27 telecast exclusively on FOX.

Beginning at 9:00 am ET on East Coast shows, one winner will be announced and give an acceptance speech in the 9:00 a.m. local hour across the four major time zones in the following categories: Country Album of the Year, Country Song of the Year, Dance Album of the Year, and Social Star Award. Winners will also be revealed on iHeartMedia’s radio stations and socials following FOX.

Meanwhile, Sir Elton and his friends recently gathered in Los Angeles to celebrate his longtime writing partner, Bernie Taupin’s 71st birthday.

“Celebrating the milestone birthday of my musical soulmate,” wrote Elton. “Happy Birthday Brother, I love you.”
