Dolly Parton’s rock album has been getting a lot of attention for many months now. Since the iconic singer/songwriter was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, she pledged to put out a rock LP.
Aptly titled Rock Star, the album is expected to be released in Fall 2023. In December 2022, Parton appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when the topic of her rock album came up. She shared, “We’re going to have a lot of great, iconic songs like [Prince’s] ‘Purple Rain’ [the Rolling Stones’] ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,’ [Led Zeppelin’s] ‘Stairway to Heaven,’ [Lynyrd Skynyrd’s] ‘Free Bird,’” said Parton.
