Reggaeton giant Don Omar has joined Spotify’s Billions Club, which includes songs that have surpassed one billion listens on the streaming service, with “Dile.”

The song was released back in 2003, and was featured on Omar’s celebrated album, The Last Don.

It’s been a monumental 2024 for Don Omar, who kicked off his Back to Reggaetón Tour on March 7 at the Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania. He went on to play 25 cities across the United States, ending on April 21 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

“I’ve never had the opportunity to sing my entire repertoire because I never have enough time onstage. But this tour demands two full hours of music,” Don Omar told Billboard prior to his tour.

The run marked Don Omar’s first major headlining tour in a decade, his first since the Kingdom Tour with Daddy Yankee in 2015.

During the interview, Omar explained how plenty of his peers were hoping to join the tour before it began. “Many are demanding, ‘Don’t leave me out of this!’ And I’m treating that like a privilege. If, after 25 years of career, your colleagues still feel love, happiness and the desire to share with you, you’ve done something right.”

In a 2023 interview with Rolling Stone, Omar also discussed his career, and how far he has come since his humble beginnings in the industry.

When asked what advice he would give to his younger self, he explained: “‘Don’t sell your values’ If I could tell 20-year-old Don Omar anything, I would tell him that. And ‘please don’t harm yourself, you’re such a great guy. Don’t let this industry damage you. Don’t let the evilness in people affect you.’ This industry is not worth it.

“A lot of people put themselves in bad situations when they know they are good people. They have good intentions. But the masses are demanding a rough, tough guy. In harming yourself, you’re going to harm a lot of people. When you start caring, really caring for your people, you don’t harm them. You don’t put out the wrong message. Knowing something is wrong but it sounds cool? That’s irresponsible.”
