Drake Gets Theatrical In New Music Video For ‘Way 2 Sexy’ From ‘Certified Lover Boy’

Drake’s long awaited album Certified Lover Boy has finally arrived and with it comes a theatrical, over the top music video for the project’s Future and Young Thug collaboration “Way 2 Sexy” which samples Right Said Fred‘s 1991 smash hit “I’m Too Sexy.”

Directed by Dave Meyers, the “Way 2 Sexy” visual finds Drake tapping back into his acting roots as he tries on a myriad of character ensembles. In one scene, the rapper includes his own take on the film Rambo: First Blood and he slams on a machine gun trigger as Drambo: Thirst Blood.

In another comedic moment, Drake stars in a black and white commercial for his own made up perfume line, Wet by Drake, which he whispers the name of seductively into the camera while spraying water on the women featured in the ad. Elsewhere, Future appears alongside Drake in a boyband-style synchronized choreography break while Young Thug appears later on as the centerpiece of a monthly calendar spread.

Falling in line with the theme of Certified Lover Boy’s album cover, a collection of emojis depicting pregnant women, the “Way 2 Sexy” music video opens up with a warning from Drake’s label OVO.

“Warning: Headache, stomach upset, back pain, muscle pain, stuffy nose, flushing, or dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly,” the posting reads. “Repeat viewing may lead to a pregnancy.” Throughout the music video, even a simple glance from Drake leads to the formation of a solid belly bump in onlookers.

“Way 2 Sexy” is the first video to be released for any Certified Lover Boy track. The boyband nod in the visual points to the sampling of NSYNC’s 1997 track “Sailing” on “TSU” and other parts of the visual’s choreography highlights an homage to Michael Jackson, who Drake name drops on “You Only Live Twice.”
