Kirk Hammett of Metallica took a little spill onstage during a recent concert in Dublin, and it might have something to do with Taylor Swift’s fans. Just days before, he wore a T-shirt that read, “Taylor Swift is a CIA psyop” at a show in Budapest. This caught the eye of some Swifties, including a fan account that poked fun at Metallica’s relevance by calling them a “has-been band.”
While playing “Seek and Destroy” in Dublin, Hammett lost his balance and fell into the crowd. Fortunately, he was unhurt and quickly got back up to finish the song. He even shared a video of the fall on Instagram, joking, “Yep ….. [poop emoji] happens!”
Metallica went on to perform another show in Dublin without any issues. The band is currently on their European tour and will continue through early July before starting their sold-out residency at the Las Vegas Sphere in October. It seems the Swifties were kind enough to let Hammett off with just a warning!
