Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean will temporarily trade in his football cleats and the turf at Lincoln Financial Field for an apron and a shift at a Checkers drive-thru. DeJean is collaborating with Checkers to raise funds for a good cause.
According to a PhillyVoice report, DeJean will work the drive-thru window at Checkers’ 9173 Roosevelt Blvd. location from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 17.
From Friday, May 16, to Sunday, May 18, Checkers will donate 33 cents from every sale of its large fries to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia to support a promotion it’s calling “Cooping Up Fries.” Every 100th customer on Saturday and Sunday will receive a Checkers hat autographed by DeJean, while supplies last.
DeJean’s connection with Checkers goes back to his appearance in the online series “Rearview.” In an episode that aired in January, Cooper DeJean is seen grabbing a meal at the Checkers Restaurant on Lehigh Avenue after the Eagles’ last regular season game against the New York Giants.
