Eddie Vedder has shared an update on Pearl Jam after drummer Matt Cameron’s departure in 2025. Vedder recently read an article that described the band as being “between eras,” which he found to be a fitting description.
When asked for more details, Vedder said, “We need to have a band discussion about what we want to share and who will communicate it.” Despite the changes, he reassured fans that Pearl Jam is still moving forward. “We’re in the lab, we’re woodshedding, and we’re excited,” he said. “Change can be cool. While we love how we’ve done things in the past, we’re all looking forward to what’s next.”
Cameron, who played with Pearl Jam for 27 years, announced his exit from the band in July. He wrapped up his final tour with Vedder and the rest of the band in May, supporting their latest album, “Dark Matter,” released in 2024. Fans can look forward to new music and the next chapter for Pearl Jam.
