The Pearl Jam singer joined Wilson Jr. onstage at Doheny State Beach to perform the 1991 Temple of the Dog track.
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder made a surprise appearance during Stephen Wilson Jr.’s set on Sept. 26 at the Ohana Festival in Dana Point, California. As Wilson Jr. closed his performance at Doheny State Beach with Temple of the Dog’s 1991 single “Hunger Strike,” Vedder walked onstage midway through to sing his original vocal parts from the track.
The song, originally written by Chris Cornell in memory of Mother Love Bone singer Andrew Wood, was recently recorded by Wilson Jr. for his August 2025 covers EP, Blankets. The appearance took place during the 10th anniversary of the annual Southern California festival, which was founded by Vedder.
