The message included a partying face emoji.
The Obama Foundation also shared a screenshot of the text, captioning it with “The invitation has been sent,” along with a pair of looking eyes emojis. The Obama Presidential Center will open on Friday in Chicago, with the opening ceremony scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. CT. Fans can watch the event live online.
Vedder has been a longtime supporter of Obama and even performed before his farewell address in 2017. Both Vedder and Obama have ties to Chicago, as Vedder was born in Evanston, Illinois.
