Elton John Unveils 2005 Live Performance of ‘We All Fall In Love Sometimes/Curtains’

Elton John’s classic album, *Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy*, is getting a special 50th anniversary reissue. This new edition features a full disc of bonus material, including a live recording of “We All Fall In Love Sometimes/Curtains” from his 2005 tour, which celebrated the album’s 30th anniversary. In the original album, these two songs flow together, and in concert, John turned them into a powerful 10-minute medley.

The bonus disc also includes six demos from the album sessions, while the first disc features the 2016 remaster of the original studio album. The reissue comes with a 28-page booklet that includes sleeve notes and never-before-seen diary entries from John dating back to 1974.

The reissue will be available on October 24 in both 2LP and 2CD formats. On the same day, fans can also look forward to the first-ever vinyl release of *Live at Midsummer Music, Wembley Stadium 1975*, where John performed the *Captain Fantastic* material live for the first time.

Originally released in 1975, *Captain Fantastic* was John’s ninth studio album and made history by debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It was the first album to be certified Gold based solely on pre-orders, selling 1.4 million copies in just four days and staying at the top for seven weeks. While it produced the hit single “Someone Saved My Life Tonight,” the album is best known for its deeply personal songs about John and his longtime collaborator, Bernie Taupin.
