Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea stars in the latest Tiny Desk concert. He switches between bass, trumpet and vocals to play three songs from his debut solo album Honora: “Traffic Lights,” “Morning Cry” and “A Plea.” A four-piece band backs him — guitarist Jeff Parker, saxophonist/keyboardist Josh Johnson, bassist Anna Butterss and drummer Deantoni Parks. “I’m just one part of this ensemble,” Flea says. Honora came out in March and includes a guest spot from Thom Yorke, plus an instrumental cover of Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You.” Watch the Tiny Desk set on YouTube.
