Evanescence has just dropped a new remix of their song “Afterlife” to celebrate the 2025 Game Awards. This fresh version is a collaboration with the synthwave band Gunship and is available exclusively on Spotify. The original “Afterlife” was released in March for Netflix’s adaptation of the Devil May Cry video game series.
Amy Lee, the band’s frontwoman, shared her excitement about the remix, saying, “We’ve been looking for an excuse to work with Gunship for too long and couldn’t be more excited about this dark new version of ‘Afterlife.’ Being a part of the Devil May Cry series has been an honor and too much fun.”
Evanescence will also perform “Afterlife” live at the 2025 Game Awards, which will stream online on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
In addition to the “Afterlife” remix, Spotify’s Game Awards singles series features Bilmuri covering “I Really Want to Stay at Your House,” a song from the game Cyberpunk 2077.
