Blaze Bayley, the former vocalist of Iron Maiden, has expressed his excitement about being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside the legendary band. “It’s crazy, really!” he told Metal Hammer. Bayley, who sang on Maiden’s albums “The X Factor” and “Virtual XI” during Bruce Dickinson’s absence, reflected on his journey, saying he always wanted to be like Ronnie James Dio, who is also in the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame.
He feels honored to be recognized in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which he describes as a broader celebration of music. “I’ve had so many messages saying congratulations,” Bayley shared. “It’s a really big deal for a lot of people; for me, I just feel so lucky to be considered in the same breath as some of the other artists on there. Multi-platinum artists!”
The induction ceremony is set for November 14 in Los Angeles and will air on ABC, with streaming available on Disney+ in December. It’s unclear if Iron Maiden will participate, as the band has previously been critical of the Rock Hall. However, their manager, Rod Smallwood, acknowledged the honor, stating, “It’s always nice to be recognized and honored for any achievements within the music industry.
