Billy Idol didn't hold back during a recent appearance on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast, reflecting on the extreme lengths he went to during his battle with addiction. The 70-year-old punk icon candidly admitted that he turned to smoking crack as a way to get off heroin, telling Maher with a laugh, "It worked."
The revelation ties into his new documentary, Billy Idol Should Be Dead, where he reflects on the "chaos of the ’80s," including a near-fatal overdose where he recalled "turning blue" after snorting heroin. He also discusses the notorious motorcycle crash that nearly ended his career and his life.

Now identifying as "California sober," the legendary rocker says he is "super lucky" to have survived his past and hasn't touched cocaine in 20 years.

Sabaton has officially revealed the rescheduled dates for the North American leg of their "Legends On Tour". Originally set to begin in February 2026, the tour was postponed to allow bassist Pär Sundström time to recover from inflammation in his arms. The new schedule is now set to kick off on September 23, 2026, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and will run through mid-December.

The rescheduled trek will visit 30 cities across the U.S. and Canada, including a newly added stop in Orlando, Florida, and a second performance in Winnipeg due to high demand. Tickets for the original dates will be honored at the new shows, and refund options are available through official points of purchase for those unable to attend.

During the latest episode of The Osbournes podcast, Sharon Osbourne and her son Jack addressed a copyright lawsuit filed by rock photographer Neil Zlozower. The legal action, originally filed in February 2025, centers on photos of the rock legend that were shared on social media without permission or payment for usage. The lawsuit argues that the use of these photos allowed for monetization and financial benefit across Ozzy’s social platforms, which reach millions of followers.

Sharon expressed her frustration during the episode, noting that Zlozower was a long-time acquaintance who even attended her wedding. She condemned the $50,000 claim, stating that the photo in question was only visible for a couple of days. While Sharon initially suggested the photo was on Ozzy's website, Jack clarified that the images were actually posted to his social media pages. Sharon further called out Zlozower’s history of litigation, suggesting he now makes a living by suing various artists rather than through active photography.

Josh Katz, frontman of the rock band Badflower, has confirmed that the band’s current tour will proceed despite recent vocal issues that led to an emotional breakdown during a performance in Salt Lake City. During the show, Katz told the audience he was "done with this tour" due to the immense stress and uncertainty surrounding his vocal performance.

In a subsequent video update, Katz clarified that the tour is not canceled and that he feels supported enough to continue. He revealed that the struggle is "messing me up on a mental health level" even more than a physical one, describing the pressure of not knowing how his voice will perform until the first note of a show. Katz expressed gratitude for the "incredible advice and support" he has received from fellow singers. The tour, which supports the band's 2025 album No Place Like Home, resumed in Seattle on March 4th.

Skindred has released an official music video for their latest single, "Can I Get A," directed by Steve Clarke. The track serves as the third advance single from the band’s ninth studio album, You Got This, which is scheduled for release on April 17th via Earache Records.

The song is deeply personal for frontman Benji Webbe, who wrote the lyrics as a reflection on his upbringing as an orphan and his relationship with his older brother. Webbe stated that the track is intended to empower listeners, drawing from his own experience of using music to navigate a difficult childhood and avoid the pitfalls of his environment. He emphasized the message of living in the moment and not focusing on what one lacks, but rather on the potential to become whatever they desire.

Courtney Love has sparked widespread speculation regarding a Hole reunion, hinting at a potential tour that would include longtime bassist Melissa Auf der Maur. The band, which has not performed a full show together in 14 years, has been the subject of reunion rumors for years, though Love previously dismissed such possibilities as recently as 2021.

Love posted “So do we tell the kids about the tour @xmadmx?” along with a video on Instagram.

The teaser follows a period of renewed collaboration between the two musicians, who were recently spotted together in a London recording studio for the first time in over two decades. While official dates and a full lineup have yet to be confirmed, the prospect of a tour marks a significant shift for the group, whose classic Celebrity Skin era remains a touchstone of '90s alternative rock. This news adds to a busy year for the members, as Love continues to work on new solo material and Auf der Maur prepares for the launch of her upcoming memoir.

Kesha has issued a strong public statement condemning the White House for using her music in a recent social media post without authorization. The controversy began after the White House TikTok account featured her 2010 hit "Blow" over footage of a fighter jet firing a missile at a naval ship, captioned with the word “Lethality”.

The singer took to social media to express her disapproval, stating that she does not approve of her music being used to "incite violence and threaten war". In her statement, Kesha called the attempt to make light of war "inhumane" and emphasized that such messaging is the opposite of what she stands for.

The singer also referenced mentions of Trump in the Department of Justice's files on Jeffrey Epstein, writing, "Also, don't let this distract us from the fact that criminal predator Donald Trump appears in the Files over a million times."

Chris Fronzak, frontman of Attila, has issued a public apology to Caleb Shomo of Beartooth regarding a series of posts made on X (formerly Twitter). The controversy began when Fronzak posted remarks that many interpreted as a jab at Shomo’s personal life and the LGBTQ+ community.

In his apology, Fronzak clarified his intent, stating, "I meant it as a joke, not a jab at gay people," and expressed regret for the divisive nature of the comments. While the exchange sparked significant debate among fans online, Shomo has not yet issued a formal public response to the apology.

Fronzak's Full post :

“I would like to formally apologize for my tweet about Caleb Shomo. I meant it as a joke, but it didn’t come across that way. I don’t know what he’s going through at the moment, but I wish him the best. The world has too much hate rn & I don’t want to add any fuel to that fire. People will probably twist this into more negativity, but I am being honest. I meant it as a joke, not a jab at gay people. I personally thought it was lighthearted but I suppose that’s subjective.

From my perspective- I get death threats daily for over a decade. People call me horrific things & make up terrible stories. Horrible stuff every day. My perspective is skewed, the internet has desensitized me so I thought it was a 1/10 light joke. The reality is, people are struggling in their own ways, and jokes are subjective. You never know what someone is going through. Therefore, I am sorry, and I will work towards thinking about things deeper before I just word-vomit shit into this bird app. Love yall”

Billy Corgan has shared a theory on why rock music lost its dominance in mainstream culture, asserting that the genre was "purposely dialed down" starting in the late 1990s. Speaking on his podcast, The Magnificent Others, Corgan described witnessing a sudden "gravity shift" at outlets like MTV around 1997 or 1998, where rock was sidelined in favor of other genres despite remaining a top cultural force at the time.

Corgan noted a "schism" in the modern landscape, where rock remains a leading ticket-selling genre in the Western world yet receives minimal representation in the broader cultural conversation. While acknowledging the quality of the artists that rose to prominence during this shift, he argued that there was an overt effort to reduce the ability of rock stars to have a voice. He even referenced theories suggesting external involvement in these shifts, though he admitted such details were above his "pay grade."

Twisted Sister has officially named former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach as their guest vocalist for a series of upcoming reunion performances. In a social media statement released today, March 3rd, the band confirmed that Bach will join founding members Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda for select dates this fall. Snider has reportedly given the arrangement his full blessing, expressing his hope that the band continues to thrive. In a new interview with El Cuartel Del Metal, Suicidal Tendencies frontman Mike Muir shared his thoughts on the rise of AI-generated music. Muir expressed a "humanistic" concern, arguing that while technology offers shortcuts, "the journey is more important than the end result". He noted that overcoming obstacles and the process of adaptation are what fuel true creativity, warning that relying on buttons for instant results could eliminate some of the greatest human achievements.

Beyond the technology debate, Muir reflected on the long-standing philosophy of Suicidal Tendencies, comparing their discography to chapters in a book where no two are the same. He emphasized that the band prioritizes personal growth and musical "spices" over mainstream appeal, even if it takes years for some listeners to appreciate new sounds. Following their 2025 run with Metallica, the band remains active with a lineup featuring members like Tye Trujillo and Jay Weinberg, continuing to focus on a path of constant evolution.

Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach has opened up about his spiritual journey, stating in a recent interview, "I'm a full-blown believer now." The singer revealed that his path toward faith was heavily influenced by his long-standing friendships with Korn’s Brian "Head" Welch and P.O.D.’s Sonny Sandoval, whom he credited for their consistent support and examples of Christian living.

Shaddix explained that his transition to Christianity wasn't an overnight event but a "slow burn" that eventually led him to a place of surrender. He noted that while he previously struggled with the "religious" aspects of faith, he has now found a personal connection that has impacted his sobriety and overall outlook on life. Shaddix emphasized that he remains committed to his music and his band, viewing his platform as a way to share his experiences with honesty.

Justin Timberlake is taking legal action to keep the body camera footage of his 2024 drunken driving arrest from being released to the public. In a lawsuit filed on Monday, March 2, against the village of Sag Harbor and its police department, Timberlake's attorneys argued that the video would subject him to "public ridicule and harassment" if disseminated by media outlets.

JT was charged with a DWI in June 2024 after being pulled over while driving in Sag Harbor, Long Island. He struck a deal after agreeing to plead guilty to a noncriminal driving while impaired traffic violation.

She even shared a touching moment where Ozzy asked if the brand could work without him. Her answer? "It’s a brand. It will work without you"—to which the legend himself replied, "We should do it". Today, March 3, 2026, marks the 45th birthday of Tobias Forge, the mastermind behind the Swedish rock phenomenon Ghost. This milestone birthday comes at a pivotal turning point for the artist, following the emotional conclusion of the Skeletour World Tour just last week in Los Angeles.

In recent interviews, Forge revealed that he is officially "stepping away" from Ghost for an indefinite period to focus on his wife and children, noting that after 15 years of constant touring and recording, he "physically and mentally needs to be home". While Ghost is moving into a hiatus, Forge remains creatively active; he has confirmed work on two upcoming film projects and a non-Ghost-related album that was recorded prior to the tour. As fans celebrate his 45th year, the future of the Clergy remains a "big question mark," with Forge emphasizing that he needs this break to find fresh inspiration for the band's next chapter.

Trent Reznor made headlines over the weekend after suggesting to a crowd in Tulsa, Oklahoma, that Nine Inch Nails may be finished with traditional touring. Speaking to the audience at the BOK Center on February 27, 2026, Reznor reflected on the band’s history with the city—dating back to a 1990 support slot for Peter Murphy—before hinting that their road days could be reaching a conclusion.

Caleb Shomo of Beartooth has deleted his official Instagram account following intense online scrutiny over the band’s latest single, "Free". The track, which serves as Beartooth’s first release under Fearless Records, sparked a wave of targeted harassment after the music video debuted a dramatic shift in Shomo’s visual presentation. According to reports, the abuse spilled over onto the social media pages of Shomo’s family members, prompting the frontman to step away from the platform.

Adding to the tension, Attila frontman Chris Fronzak weighed in on the situation with a series of divisive posts on X (formerly Twitter). Fronzak joked that Shomo had "dropped the 'S'" from his name—a remark many fans interpreted as a homophobic slur—before later dismissing the backlash by calling critics "soft". Fronzak further alleged that the music industry is "brainwashed" and claimed major labels often force artists to fit specific "narratives". Despite the controversy, Shomo previously described the new song as the start of a deeply personal and honest chapter, reflecting the "emotional roller coaster" of his soul.

David Draiman has issued a direct challenge to Elon Musk regarding the current state of information on the social media platform X. While acknowledging their mutual agreement that "free speech is absolute," Draiman argued that users acting as "the media" must be held to a standard of truth. He expressed frustration over the speed at which false information travels, noting that "Community Notes" often arrive too late to undo the damage of a viral lie.

Draiman specifically proposed a "three strikes and you’re out" system to punish the intentional spreading of blatant disinformation. He emphasized that the platform should not "automatically reward" accounts with high engagement if they are pushing non-factual content. These comments were part of a broader weekend of social media activity for the singer, which also included a respectful disagreement with Jack White regarding the recent military operations in Iran.

Draiman's Full Post:

"Dear @elonmusk

Free speech is absolute.

We agree on that completely.

However, if you want users to “be the media”, they should at LEAST be held to SOME standard of accuracy or truth.

There’s SO much false information flying around online on a daily basis. Community notes help, but they are added after the fact, and by the time they actually GET added, the lie has travelled around the world and the damage is already done.

There MUST be SOME system put in place that punishes such behavior? A three strikes and you’re out type thing maybe? Whether it be from the MSM or independent users, if you’re pushing blatant disinformation, the platform shouldn’t automatically reward you because you “get engagement.”

In a heartfelt video message, Anthony and Randy Armstrong have confirmed that lead singer Michael Barnes is stepping away from Red permanently to focus on his family after a nearly 20-year run. The news comes after a period of relative silence from the band, with Armstrong explaining that Barnes approached the group a year ago with his decision. Despite the major lineup change, the band is "here to stay" and has already begun planning for a new era.

While Red continues the search for a permanent replacement, they have announced that AJ Reingart (of the band Okaya) will be filling in on vocals for the upcoming 20th Anniversary of End of Silence tour this May and June. Additionally, fan-favorite drummer Dan Johnson is officially back in the fold after a four-year hiatus. Fans will have one final opportunity to see the original lineup perform together for a special farewell show on Friday, June 5th, in Dallas, Texas, where they will play the iconic End of Silence album in its entirety.

It has been 25 years since Linkin Park officially unleashed "Crawling" as the second single from their diamond-certified debut album, Hybrid Theory. While the album arrived in late 2000, the single's rollout throughout early 2001—specifically gaining massive radio and retail momentum by March and April of that year—marked the moment the band became a permanent fixture on the global charts.

The track remains one of the most significant in the band’s catalog, earning them a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2002. Known for Chester Bennington’s vulnerable yet explosive vocal delivery and Mike Shinoda’s atmospheric production, "Crawling" tackled themes of anxiety and lack of self-control, resonating with a generation and helping Hybrid Theory become the best-selling debut of the 21st century.

Zakk Wylde has set the tone for his upcoming North American tour with a classic bit of his trademark "berserker" humor. When asked how he plans to manage the physical toll of performing two full sets a night as both the frontman of Zakk Sabbath and Black Label Society, Wylde jokingly claimed his motivation was purely romantic—targeting his own wife and manager, Barbaranne Wylde.

"The whole point is I'm in Zakk Sabbath and we're opening for Black Label," Zakk quipped. "I'm not only a fan of Zakk Wylde, I'm a fan of his wife... I plan on sleeping with Zakk Wylde's wife. While we're going to blow Black Label off the stage, I'm gonna sleep with his wife."

Sharon and Kelly Osbourne shared a deeply emotional moment on stage at the 2026 BRIT Awards in Manchester as they accepted a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award for the late Ozzy Osbourne. Introduced by a video message from Dolly Parton, who lauded Ozzy’s "permanent imprint" on music, the pair celebrated the "Prince of Darkness" seven months after his passing in July 2025. Sharon, 73, described her late husband as "the most humble egomaniac you will ever meet," reflecting on his journey from working-class Birmingham to global superstardom.

Kelly Osbourne added a lighter touch to the poignant evening, following her mother's speech by thanking fans for their loyalty and giving a playful "up the Villa" shout-out to her father's favorite football club, Aston Villa. The tribute concluded with a high-energy performance of "No More Tears," fronted by family friend Robbie Williams and backed by a supergroup of Ozzy’s longtime band members, including Zakk Wylde and Robert Trujillo.

Despite massive breakout years, both Turnstile and Sleep Token left the 2026 BRIT Awards without a win on Saturday, February 28th. The ceremony, held in Manchester, saw the two heavy-hitters fall to indie and alternative mainstays in their respective categories. Sleep Token, who made chart history in 2025 with their album Even In Arcadia, lost the Group of the Year award to Wolf Alice.

Meanwhile, Turnstile was unable to repeat their recent success at the GRAMMYs—where they took home Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance—losing the International Group of the Year category to the Brooklyn-based band Geese. Other nominees in the competitive international category included Tame Impala and Haim. While the night was a disappointment for the two fan favorites, the heavy music community still celebrated the posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award presented to the legendary Ozzy Osbourne during the broadcast.

The legendary Ozzy Osbourne was honored with a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 BRIT Awards in Manchester on Saturday night. The emotional ceremony featured a video tribute introduced by Dolly Parton, who praised Osbourne's "permanent imprint on music lovers everywhere". Sharon Osbourne accepted the award on behalf of her late husband, accompanied on stage by her children Kelly and Louis Osbourne. In a moving speech, Sharon described Ozzy as "the most humble egomaniac you will ever meet" and expressed how proud he would have been to receive the honor in his home country.

The night’s musical centerpiece was an all-star tribute performance of the solo classic "No More Tears," led by UK pop icon Robbie Williams. Williams was backed by an elite lineup of Ozzy’s long-time collaborators, including guitarist Zakk Wylde, bassist Robert Trujillo, drummer Tommy Clufetos, and keyboardist Adam Wakeman. Wylde notably took center stage for a blistering rendition of the track’s signature solo. The tribute marks the latest major recognition for the metal pioneer’s enduring influence, following a similarly star-studded musical salute at the 2026 GRAMMYS earlier this month.

David Draiman, the frontman of Disturbed, has issued a public response to Jack White following White's scathing critique of the latest U.S. military campaign in Iran. Sharing a Billboard headline that detailed White's comments regarding the "Board of Peace," Draiman argued that the liberation of the Iranian people should be a bipartisan point of agreement, regardless of one's opinion on the current administration.

Draiman took a diplomatic tone, praising White as an "absolutely brilliant artist" and clarifying that he seeks a respectful conversation rather than a debate. The "open invitation" for a public or private discussion comes as the music industry remains deeply divided over the escalation of conflict in the Middle East. As of now, White has not publicly responded to Draiman’s offer.
David's Full Post

"No matter what you may think of other things done by this administration, the campaign to #FreeIran isn’t something you, or anyone for that matter, should be taking issue with. The Iranian people deserve their freedom.

I say this with the UTMOST respect. I think you’re an absolutely brilliant artist.
I’d love to have the opportunity to talk with you...not debate, about it, anywhere you like, in private, or public, whichever you prefer.

Open invitation."

Radiohead has issued a scathing public statement after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) used a choral cover of their 1997 classic "Let Down" in a social media propaganda video. Mincing no words, the band demanded that the "amateurs in control of the ICE social media account" take the video down immediately, stating that the song holds deep meaning for them and their fans and that the agency does not have the right to "appropriate it without a fight." The band ended their message with a blunt dismissal: "Also, go f*ck yourselves... Radiohead."

The ICE video in question features a mashup of the OK Computer track playing over images of victims of violence, which the agency attributes to "criminal illegal alien violence." Ironically, the clip reportedly fades out on the lyric "useless," a detail critics and the band suggest highlights how poorly the song aligns with the agency's message. This incident follows a similar legal dispute earlier this month, where guitarist Jonny Greenwood and director Paul Thomas Anderson demanded the removal of his Phantom Thread score from a Melania Trump documentary, citing a breach of his composer agreement.

Jack White has taken to social media to voice a scathing critique of the latest military campaign in Iran. In a post shared on Saturday, White called out the "unprecedented" strikes—which reportedly launched without congressional approval—mocking the administration’s self-proclaimed status as peacemakers. "Can you believe donny hasn't received a real Nobel Peace Prize yet? Unfair!" White wrote sarcastically, adding, "Maybe in his third term he'll get one."

White’s comments also highlighted the personal disconnect he sees in the conflict, writing that the President's own children "won't have to fight or die, just other people's children." This public outburst is the latest in White's long history of political activism, which has recently included a firm stance against the use of his music at political rallies. The military action has sparked a wave of responses across the music community, with several other festivals and artists adjusting their 2026 plans in the wake of the political fallout.

Jack's full post:

"Don't you love seeing him declare war on a country while wearing a trucker hat that says "USA" on it? Behold the leader of the "Board of Peace". For the next war announcement donny, may I suggest having your feet up on the Resolute desk while eating a Big Mac in a velvet track suit? Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, Cuba, what's the difference right? don jr. and barron won't have to fight or die, just other people's children, so...invade and bomb away! New sign ups for the "board of peace" starting at one billion dollars! Can you believe donny hasn't received a real Nobel Peace Prize yet? Unfair! Maybe in his third term he'll get one."

Gary Holt has opened up about Slayer’s 2024 return to the stage, describing the experience as "surreal" and "spectacular" while emphasizing the intense work required to bring the thrash titans back to life.

Speaking in a new interview on February 27, 2026, Holt revealed that despite his decade-long tenure with the band, he and bassist/vocalist Tom Araya were incredibly nervous before their first show back at Chicago’s Riot Fest. To ensure they were prepared, the group underwent a "full production rehearsal"—a departure from their usual routine—to refamiliarize themselves with the material after five years away.
Holt admitted he even had to consult internet guitar tabs to relearn certain parts he had played hundreds of times, though he noted that "muscle memory" eventually took over. While emphasizing that he remains fully committed to Exodus, Holt confirmed that Slayer currently plans to continue with a "brief, minor" schedule of selective appearances. This includes a confirmed performance at the 20th anniversary of Rocklahoma on September 6, 2026, and a rumored slot at Texas's Sick New World festival.

The spirit of the plastic-instrument era is officially returning with the reveal of Stage Tour, a new rhythm-action title being developed by a reconstituted RedOctane Games. Unveiled during IGN Fan Fest 2026, the game is being spearheaded by veterans of the original Guitar Hero and DJ Hero franchises, including original founders Charles and Kai Huang on the advisory board. To set the tone for this revival, the debut trailer features the high-octane track "Terminator Oscillator" from the platinum-certified industrial metal outfit Static-X.

Stage Tour is designed as a long-term platform rather than a series of annual sequels, with plans for regular seasonal updates, live events, and a deep competitive infrastructure. The game will support a full-band experience—including Lead (Guitar), Drums, Vocals, and a new "Groove" lane—and is fully compatible with classic five-fret peripherals, keyboards, and standard controllers. To coincide with the launch, RedOctane has partnered with Gibson, Epiphone, and Kramer to release a new line of dedicated hardware, including a Kramer-style guitar controller. A closed alpha test is scheduled for Summer 2026, ahead of the game's full release on PC and a wide range of consoles this fall.

The high seas are getting a dose of Mongolian throat-singing as The HU officially joins the musical world of Netflix’s One Piece. Released on, February 27, 2026, "Pray to the Sun" is the first single from the upcoming second season’s soundtrack, One Piece: Into the Grand Line. Composed by the Emmy-winning duo Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli, the track features the band’s signature folk-metal power alongside the primal vocals of Irish musician Declan de Barra.

The anthem specifically serves as the theme for the fan-favorite Viking giants of Elbaf, Dorry and Brogy, capturing their unbreakable code of honor and devotion to the Sun God. To achieve the track’s massive scale, the composers recorded over 140 hours of orchestra and choir sessions, blending ancient instruments like the horse-head fiddle and jaw harp with modern metal energy. This collaboration arrives just as the second season of the live-action adaptation prepares to debut on Netflix on March 10, 2026.
