Foo Fighters have announced the cancelation of their August 3 show in Minneapolis at Huntington Bank Stadium due to the venue refusing to comply with the band’s COVID protocols.

In a brief statement, the Foos said, “Due to Huntington Bank Stadium’s refusal to agree to the band’s Covid safety measures, Foo Fighters are unable to perform at that venue. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working on finding a suitable replacement — one that will prioritize the health and safety of everyone working and attending the show.”

Huntington Bank Stadium is located on the campus of the University of Minnesota. Per the Star Tribune, “While the U has required students to be vaccinated since October (aside from medical or religious exceptions), Huntington Bank Stadium did not mandate masks, proof of vaccine or negative test results for Gopher football fans. Masks are required for indoor events at the university, however.”

Since the Foos returned to performing back in June, they have required proof of vaccination in order to attend their show. New show dates that were announced yesterday (November 30) also have the option to provide a negative COVID test for admission.
