Foo Fighters Joined by Paramore’s Hayley Williams at Bonnaroo

Foo Fighters closed out Bonnaroo 2023 last night (June 18), and they were joined by Paramore’s Hayley Williams.

The band’s 19-song headlining set featured Williams joining the Foos for a rousing rendition of “My Hero.” It’s hard not to feel the buoyant joy from Williams in the video below, so we imagine the energy was off the charts in person.

Foo Fighters have a full slate of headlining festival dates and select solo shows all this summer. The band is on the road in support of their new studio album, But Here We Are, which was dedicated to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and Grohl’s late mother, Virginia.

Foo Fighters: List of Festivals They’re Headlining in 2023

Foo Fighters will be headlining a number of festivals in 2023, which will be the first shows since their tribute concerts in honor of late drummer Taylor Hawkins.

The announcement of these headlining festival dates will likely show what the Foo Fighters will be like following the sudden passing of Hawkins in March 2022. On New Year’s Eve, the band shared a statement with fans confirming they would continue but that they were “going to be a different band going forward.”

The band’s full statement is as follows:

“As we say goodbye to the most difficult and tragic year that our band has ever known, we are reminded of how thankful we are for the people that we love and cherish most, and for the loved ones who are no longer with us.

Foo Fighters were formed 27 years ago to represent the healing power of music and a continuation of life. And for the past 27 years, our fans have built a worldwide community, a devoted support system that has helped us all get through the darkest of times together. A place to share our joy and our pain, our hopes and fears, and to join in a chorus of life together through music. Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were – and without Taylor, we know that we’re going to be a different band going forward.

We also know that you, the fans, meant as much to Taylor as he meant to you.  And we know that when we see you again – and we will soon – he’ll be there in spirit with all of us every night.”
