Former Dead Kennedys singer Jello Biafra returned to the stage Saturday for the first time since a stroke in March. He played at TentacleFest in San Francisco, a show put on by his label, Alternative Tentacles Records. Biafra joined the band Wheelchair Sports Camp to perform their song “Make It Make Sense.” A clip of the performance is on Alternative Tentacles’ Instagram.
When he announced the stroke in March, Biafra wrote that he still had a lot to give but needed rehab. He is 68. Biafra co-founded the Dead Kennedys and sang on all four of their albums during the band’s original run from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s. The band reformed in 2001 without him, and relations have been tense since.
