Frank Zappa’s Honker Home Video Makes a Comeback

Frank Zappa’s Honker Home Video is making a comeback! Originally launched in 1985, the brand is now re-launching as an online video service on Zappa.com. Honker believes that what you watch and when you watch it should be your choice, not decided by others. Each rental costs $6.99 and is available for 72 hours once you start watching.

The collection features some cool vintage items too. You can find Honker Home Video No-D glasses, bumper stickers that say “Honker if you love home video,” and a “We are what we watch” poster from 1987.

One exciting film available for rent is *Cheaper Than Cheep*, a never-before-seen concert film recorded on June 21, 1974, with The Mothers Of Invention. This film was produced by Zappa and his longtime Vaultmaster Joe Travers, and directed by Zappa’s son Ahmet, who spent over 12 years on the project.

Another highlight is *Video From Hell*, a 1985 compilation showcasing Honker projects like *Baby Snakes* and *Uncle Meat*. It features Al Malkin’s “I Need Your Love” and Zappa’s testimony before the Maryland State Legislature in 1986.

You can also check out *True Stories Of Frank Zappa’s 200 Motels*, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Zappa’s 1971 film. This one-hour documentary includes footage of the original cast, like Keith Moon and Ringo Starr, along with rare clips from Zappa’s archives.

Don’t miss *The Torture Never Stops*, a concert film from Halloween 1981 at The Palladium in NYC.
