Iron Maiden has released a new clip from their upcoming documentary, “Burning Ambition.” The clip features old footage of the band discussing their songwriting process. Frontman Bruce Dickinson reflects on their themes, saying, “It seems crazy to write songs about drinking and screwing women and smoking strange substances and going out and partying … it’s much more fun doing it than it is listening to a song about it.” He adds, “We prefer to write songs about things that people don’t do very often, like death.”
“Burning Ambition” looks back at Iron Maiden’s impressive 50-year career. The documentary includes interviews with band members and fans, such as Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, actor Javier Bardem, and rapper Chuck D. Fans can catch the premiere in theaters on May 7.
