Japanese singer and songwriter Fujii Kaze was on tour across North America for the first time. Following his incredible performance at Apollo Theater, New York, Japan-born artist was surprised with a custom Gold Single Award plaque by Republic Records.
The plaque represents his worldwide hit single “Shinunoga E-Wa” from 2020 album Help Ever Hurt Never and back in 2022, the track began taking over the popular social media app around the world. Thanks to its ever-growing popularity on TikTok, “Shinunoga E-Wa” achieved a massive breakthrough in the US. The song landed at No.3 on the Spotify US Viral 50 Chart back in September, spurred on by its domination on the app. and the song was the most-played Japanese song on Spotify in 2023.
Help Ever Hurt Never was first released on May 20, 2020. A cover album of English songs called Help Ever Hurt Cover, was released as a bonus disc with the first pressing of the CD. The album was later made available digitally and it has already been was certified Platinum in Fujii Kaze’s native Japan.
Fujii Kaze has captivated many US audiences with his varied expressiveness, even though he only plays his own piano in live performances. His US tour “Fujii Kaze and the Piano U.S. Tour” will play two shows at the Apollo Theatre in New York and two shows at the United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles in May and June this year, all venues were sold out. He will also play his first show in their native Japan in 18 months at Nissan Stadium. The show, entitled “Fujii Kaze Stadium Live ‘Feelin’ Good’”, will be held over two days on 24 and 25 August and is expected to draw around 140,000 people.
