Japanese pop sensation Fujii Kaze has served up a scintillating new single entitled “Feelin’ Go(o)d.” Written by Fujii Kaze and produced by A. G. Cook, the new release marks his first new track in four months.
The anthemic single is built around twinkling keys and a mesmerizing synth loop. His sugary-sweet melodies immediately provide something to latch onto. “Feelin’ Go(o)d” is a testament to Fujii Kaze’s enviable versatility.
Regarding the track, he commented: “This feelin’ good song could’ve been out last summer or so but the universe says now is the time, so here we are. As a result this single ended up being like a little dessert after releasing four meals (singles). Hope it tastes good for ya.”
The new single lands in the wake of “Michi Teyu Ku (Overflowing).” Since dropping in March, the latter has popped off in the form of 36.7 million Spotify streams, while the music video has tallied 25 million views alone.
Last month, Fujii Kaze was on tour across North America for the first time. Following his incredible performance at the Apollo Theater, New York, Japan-born artist was surprised with a custom Gold Single Award plaque by Republic Records.
The plaque represents his worldwide hit single “Shinunoga E-Wa” from 2020 album Help Ever Hurt Never and back in 2022, the track began taking over the popular social media app around the world. Thanks to its ever-growing popularity on TikTok, “Shinunoga E-Wa” achieved a massive breakthrough in the US. The song landed at No.3 on the Spotify US Viral 50 Chart back in September, spurred on by its domination on the app, and the song was the most-played Japanese song on Spotify in 2023.
Help Ever Hurt Never was first released on May 20, 2020. A cover album of English songs called Help Ever Hurt Cover, was released as a bonus disc with the first pressing of the CD. The album was later made available digitally and it has already been was certified Platinum in Fujii Kaze’s native Japan.
