Gene Simmons’ Advice During Coronavirus Pandemic: “Stop hanging out with everybody.”

Before literally everything was postponed due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, KISS was one of the first bands to take action by canceling their meet-and-greets. Now that their concerts have been postponed, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley both have a significant amount of free time on their hands, and they have some advice for everyone.

In an interview with Rolling Stone Australia, Simmons said, “I would like to wish everyone good health and remind them that ‘the only way is the lonely way.’ Just like your favorite TV show, you can assume everybody out there is a zombie, and one contact will turn you into a zombie. Stop hanging out with everybody. Stay at home, if you can. This too shall pass, but it will take a long time. It could last months and months. So get used to FaceTime, binge-watch your favorite shows, workout at home. And stay away from everybody else.”

Stanley added, “Be as safe as you can for your sake and the sake of everyone around you. This isn’t a time to be casual or make unqualified judgments. There’s far more to this than simply looking at recovery or mortality percentages. We’ll get through this.”

As for what they’re doing to pass the time, The Demon and The Starchild are doing pretty much the same things as the rest of us: Binge-watching new shows, listening to music, keeping in touch with friends and family and occasionally getting some fresh air in wide open spaces away from other people.

Rock stars: In the face of a pandemic, they’re just like us!
