Gene Simmons Teases Future KISS Show at ‘Coldest Place on Earth’

Gene Simmons had some very interesting comments regarding KISS’ remaining dates on their “End of the Road” farewell tour.

In a new interview, Simmons said regarding KISS shows in 2021, “We’ve already booked Europe outdoors. Most of the shows have already sold out. We start in summer. The vaccines are gonna be out there for everybody, oh, by January, February, March at the latest, but we’re gonna be out there a few months after that. And we’ve literally got 150 cities booked.”

Simmons continued, “…Some of the later [concerts] are gonna be jaw-dropping. You can’t imagine what we’ve got planned — like, beyond… I said, ‘No. We can really do that?’ They said, ‘Yup. Yup.’ The political people said we can play there. And so there’s gonna be stuff that’s just gonna make you go, ‘That’s the coolest.’ There’s one place that’s the coldest place on earth, and if you can imagine us playing there with even larger pyro than you’ve ever seen, ’cause there’s nothing around there. But that’s all I’ll say about it.”

This comment has led many to speculate KISS will be heading to Antarctica for a show at some point on their farewell tour, which would certainly add a special stop to an already epic farewell tour. KISS, of course, wouldn’t be the first major band to perform in Antarctica. Metallica famously did so in 2013, and it landed them the Guinness World Record for becoming the first band to play on all seven continents.

While the KISS Army awaits confirmation of this concert news, they can gear up for the band’s KISS 2020 Goodbye New Year’s Eve livestream, which will emanate live from the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai on December 31. The show will kickoff at 12 PM ET/9 AM PT and will include an even bigger-than-usual production that boasts a 250-foot stage, 50 surrounding 4k cameras and $1 million-worth of pyro.
