(G)I-DLE And Monsta X Confirmed For Europe’s Biggest K-Pop Festival, KPOP.FLEX

(G)I-DLE has been confirmed for the line-up of Europe’s biggest K-pop festival, KPOP.FLEX, which will take place in Germany next year.

The one-day event will be held at the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt on May 14, 2022, where 44,000 fans will get to see performances from seven top K-pop acts.

While the full line-up has yet to be confirmed, two names have already been announced for what organizers are calling “Europe’s first K-pop mega festival.” Alongside (G)I-DLE, MONSTA X will also perform at the event.

KPOP.FLEX will be only (G)I-DLE’s second performance in Europe so far, following an appearance in Berlin at the Music Bank World Tour in 2018. Tickets for the festival are on sale now and can be purchased from the official event website. More details about the festival will be announced soon.

The five-piece girl group – comprised of members Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua – debuted on Cube Entertainment in South Korea in 2018. In 2020, its single album “Dumdi Dumdi” became the second best-selling single album by a girl group in history after it sold 94,587 copies in its first week of release.

Since 2018, (G)I-DLE has released four EPs – including I Am, I Made, its US debut I Trust and 2021’s I Burn. Speaking to Teen Vogue about the latter upon its release, the group described the record as “a ‘novel’ that begins with the image of a woman in the cold, her heart frozen in the bitter winter of a break-up.”

They continued to explain: “By confronting it, she melts the ice that traps her. The fire of acceptance enables the growth of new love in the form of a flower and the arrival of spring.”
