Glen Campbell’s 2008 Troubadour Show Opens ‘Front And Center’ Series

The last filmed recorded performance by Glen Campbell, recently released on album as Live From The Troubadour, will tonight (August 1) open the new season of public television’s Front and Center series.

The line-up for the tenth season of the performance series has been announced, and will go on to feature new and recently-filmed shows, but commences with Campbell’s show at the famous Los Angeles venue on August 19, 2008.

The country and pop giant will be seen performing career hits such as “By The Time I Get To Phoenix,” “Rhinestone Cowboy,” and “Galveston,” but tracks from the then-new Meet Glen Campbell album including Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life),” Tom Petty’s“Walls”, and Paul Westerberg’s “Sadly Beautiful”. Four members of his family play with Campbell, as do members of the bands of Beck, Jellyfish, Jane’s Addiction, Murphy’s Law, D Generation, and Danzig.

The new episodes specially filmed for Front and Center were captured chiefly at the Analog concert space at the Hutton Hotel in Nashville. The series of one-hour performances are screened commercial-free. They will feature such country and Americana names as Old Dominion, Lady A, Maddie & Tae, and John Hiatt, performing with Jerry Douglas and special guest Tommy Emmanuel and including songs from his new Leftover Feelings album.

Series ten episodes will continue until mid-September. Viewers are advised to check local listings for screening times, and episodes will also stream on the series YouTube page. More information is available at the series website, and the full list of episodes is:
