Godsmack - Oracle

Boston rockers Godsmack are bringing their fifth album, The Oracle, to vinyl for the very first time, complete with a full audio re-master.

Originally released in 2010, the fresh press of the record comes in two versions: a standard black vinyl and a limited-edition “Saints and Sinners” deluxe edition, which pays homage to the record’s working title. The deluxe also features a bonus 7-inch single, featuring Billboard No. 1 hit “Whiskey Hangover” on the A-side and “I Blame You” on the B-side. Both versions are due out on May 2nd via Republic/UME.

The Oracle was a landmark album for Godsmack, marking their third consecutive number-one debut on the Billboard 200. Key tracks include “War and Peace,” “The Oracle,” and “Cryin’ Like a Bitch,” which went on to become a favorite in-the-ring anthem for UFC fighters—it also marked the group’s first time collaborating with producer Dave Fortman, known for his work with bands like Evanescence and Slipknot.

Formed in 1992, Godsmack consists of lead singer and rhythm guitarist Sully Erna, bassist Robbie Merrill, lead guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin. Over their 20-year career, they’ve released eight albums and earned a cumulative 13 No. 1 singles on rock radio and four Grammy nominations. In 2001, they were named Rock Artist of the Year at the Billboard Music Awards. They’ve sold over 20 million records worldwide, and released their most recent full-length, Lighting Up The Sky, in 2023. In 2014, Boston mayor Marty Walsh even declared August 6th “Godsmack Day” in the city, commemorating the release date of their sixth album 1000hp.
