Goldfinger Releases New Single “Freaking Out A Bit” Featuring Mark Hoppus of Blink-182

Goldfinger has just released a new single titled “Freaking Out A Bit” through Big Noise Music Group on July 11. The track features lead singer John Feldmann teaming up with Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker from Blink-182. The song addresses themes of stress and tech burnout, with the catchy chorus singing, “I’m waiting for a sign/ I think I’m doin’ fine/ I’m freaking out a bit.”

Feldmann shared his excitement about the collaboration, saying, “I had the concept for a song and a chorus, and they came in and brought it to life! Mark wrote the best verses, and Travis turned the beat around in the bridge, which gave it a whole new life of its own. Those guys are some of my best friends, and I love them. I’m so grateful I got to do this song with them. I’m so glad it’s finally coming out!”

This isn’t the first time Feldmann and Blink-182 have worked together. He produced their albums California and Nine, with their work on California earning a GRAMMY nomination in 2016.

Goldfinger is set to perform at the Vans Warped Tour on July 26 and 27 at Long Beach’s Shoreline Waterfront. These sold-out shows will be their first major performances since the release of “Freaking Out A Bit.”

For over thirty years, Goldfinger has made a significant impact in music, starting in 1994 with hits like “Superman” and “99 Red Balloons.” They even set a record in 1996 by playing 385 shows in one tour.

Meanwhile, Hoppus is keeping busy. He recently finished “Totally Awesome” for Disney Jr.’s Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends show. He’ll also be touring 22 U.S. cities with Blink-182 starting in August. “Freaking Out A Bit” marks Goldfinger’s first release since their 2020 album, Never Look Back, and it captures the energetic spirit of ska-punk.
